Every lesson ought to have a jump ball question. A jump ball question gets groups talking. A jump ball question makes people think. A jump ball question gets us beyond Sunday School answer. A jump ball question helps us find the narrow way.
Here is one I included in today’s lesson: Compare Matthew 7.21 with Acts 2.21. Is calling on the name of Jesus enough to get you saved?
Here are the verses:
Acts 2:21 (NIV) And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
Matthew 7:21 (NIV) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
I will be interested to see your answer to this question. Who will go first?
