Slaying the Giants in Your Life

You Can Slay the Giants in Your Life
(And you don’t have to do it alone)

By now, you’ve met the giants.

Fear.
Worry.
Guilt.
Temptation.
Anger.
Resentment.
Doubt.
Procrastination.
Failure.
Jealousy.
Loneliness.
Discouragement.

They come at us with different names and faces.
But they all have the same goal: to paralyze your faith and keep you stuck in defeat.

Here’s the good news: they don’t get the final word.

God never said we wouldn’t face giants. He just promised they wouldn’t win.

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” —Romans 8:37

What If This Time, You Faced Them Differently?

What if, instead of ignoring your guilt, you confessed it—and walked in forgiveness?
What if you stopped hiding your doubts and invited Jesus into them?
What if you stopped comparing and started living in contentment?
What if you didn’t just read about freedom, but actually started walking in it?

You weren’t meant to live bound by fear or buried under shame.
Jesus didn’t rise from the grave so you could spend your life running from giants.

You Can’t Kill Giants Alone

You were never meant to.

That’s why I created Slaying the Giants in Your Life as a small group Bible study—because spiritual transformation happens best in community.

Each of the 12 sessions is built around Good Questions That Have Groups Talking—questions that go beyond surface answers and invite real conversation. Questions that give people space to wrestle, open up, and encourage one another as they walk in victory together.

Whether you’re a:

Group leader looking for a fresh, honest, Bible-centered curriculum
Pastor seeking real-life application for your people
Or an individual who’s tired of being bullied by fear, guilt, or failure

This study is for you.

It’s Time

You don’t have to stay stuck. You don’t have to fake it. And you don’t have to fight these giants alone.

“The battle is the Lord’s.” —1 Samuel 17:47

So pick up your sling. Gather your people. And step into the kind of life Jesus died to give you.

Books as Curriculum

My life has been changed a thousand times by reading great Christian books—almost never by curriculum.

Books like Knowing God by J.I. Packer or The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul don’t just inform—they form. They drive steel into the soul. They shape convictions. They awaken awe. They make you want to fall on your knees and worship. That’s the kind of effect we’re after in discipleship.

I remember reading 2 Timothy 4:13 years ago: When you come, be sure to bring the coat I left with Carpus at Troas. Also bring my books, and especially my papers (NLT). I wrote in the margin of my Bible, “Books have always been important to the people of God.”

If you want to create disciples, get your people reading books. Let them sit under the wisdom of trusted guides who have walked with God and have something to say. Let them chew on truth that doesn’t fit on a fill-in-the-blank worksheet.

We started doing this about a year ago at my church, and I don’t think we’ll ever go back. People not only read their lessons—they enjoy them. Who doesn’t enjoy a good Charles Swindoll book? And they not only enjoy it—they change and grow.

Because books change people. And changed people change the world.
